Practice Policies

No one attending practice or meets should:

  1. Be awaiting results of a COVID-19 test.
  2. Have experienced symptoms in the past 24 hours.
  3. If anyone in your household is sick or awaiting COVID-19 test results, swimmers are not allowed at practice or meets until the swimmer receives a negative COVID-19 test.

Practice Procedures

Swimmers should arrive on time to their practice.  Parents can either stay at the practice or drop of their swimmers.

At practice, coaches will be outside of the water at both ends of the pool and will give swimmers drills to improve technique and endurance.

*If your swimmer needs to miss a practice, this is completely fine.  No need to tell a coach.  We completely understand!

Weather Policy

If a practice needs to be cancelled, Coach Kim will send out an email as well as post on our team Facebook Group.   We will cancel a practice if it is thundering or if we see lightening.  We can still swim in rain!  We may also cancel a practice if we feel the water is too cold.

For practices, we try to cancel practices an hour in advance.   Sometimes weather situations will pop up and practice will be cancelled last minute.

Swimmer's Code of Conduct

We expect all swimmers to follow coaches' directions at all times.  This includes trying their best at practice, maintaining social distancing, and clearing the pool deck in a timely manner at the end of practice.  We expect our swimmers to treat teammates positively. We do not tolerate foul language or swimmers who cannot follow directions.

What to Wear & Bring to Practice

Your child can wear any swim suit to practice.  You may choose to not wear the 'team suit' at practice in order to reduce stretching, but that it up to you.  With all age groups, we will be doing diving practice on some days, so make sure that your child's suit will stay on securely during a dive!

We recommend that you bring a towel and goggles to practice.  It's helpful to have a back up pair of goggles as they tend to get lost easily!

June Afternoon Practices

We will be offering afternoon practices in June.  These are only for swimmers who cannot attend the morning practices.  A signup 2 weeks before the start of the season will be sent out.  You must sign up in order to attend these practices.  You will be allowed to sign up for these by date, meaning if your swimmer has a morning camp during a week in June, you can sign up for afternoon practices for just that week.
