Volunteer Positions
Parent Volunteers are a necessary component of running a swim meet. Each family needs to sign up for shifts based on the number of children you have registered. (1 child = 3 shifts, 2 children = 5 shifts, 3 or more children = 6 shifts. You can choose the meet and position. (For those of you with younger, non-swimmer aged children, you'll need to arrange for childcare or have the other parent watch them during your volunteer shift.)
Here are the position descriptions
Set Up- 3:00-5:00
Helps set up the pool deck for the meets. Will need to carry tables, tents, and speakers from the clubhouse to the pool deck. We only need this for home meets.
Bullpen Parent
Works with one age group (6&U, 7-8 or 9-10) of boys or girls to verify attendance at meets. Bullpen parents line up swimmers before their events to make sure all swimmers are accounted for and report to the starting area at the correct time to start each event. This position requires good communication skills and ability to organize a group of 10-16 kids. Each age group will have 2 bullpen parents and gives you the opportunity to be with your kids the entire meet and have a front row spot to all of their swims! There are slots for experienced bullpen parents as well as new parents. If you want to be with your child the whole meet, and like organizing a group of kids, this is for you!
*Bullpen parents for 7 & Up age groups count for 3 shifts since you are helping the entire meet.
Deck Manager :

Then hands the recording sheets to the computer operator. We have a Parent Coordinator who will help you walk you through this job! There are 2 shifts for this job.

This person will complete this job at home on Thursday night at the conclusion of the meet. They should stay after the meet and wait until the meet has been scored. Then this volunteer will take the ribbons and labels home where they will place completed labels on awards. Separates ribbons into individual swimmers' files to be distributed the following day. This person needs to bring the ribbon box back to the pool on Friday morning by 9:20.
